How a casino event evening actually runs

Nobody's born knowing table etiquette. Here's the honest rundown so you walk in like you belong there.

  • Arrive smart-casual or better — the Gala and Winter Ball lean dressier
  • Chips are bought at the table or the cage; cards and cash both fine
  • Dealers happily explain the rules mid-game — asking is normal, not awkward
  • Photos are fine at your table, never of other guests or the pit

Adults only — entry rules

Every casino event on this page is strictly for guests aged 18 and over. Bring valid photo ID — venues check at the door, and a booking through us never includes entry for anyone underage.

Keeping it fun — responsible gambling

  • Set a budget for the evening and bring only what you're happy to spend on entertainment.
  • Losses happen — treat them as the cost of the night, not a debt to win back.
  • If you're tired, stressed or drinking heavily, enjoy the band and skip the tables.
  • Use the venue's time-out and self-exclusion options if you ever want a break.
  • All partner venues have trained harm-minimisation staff — asking for help is normal and confidential.

Event questions

Before the big night

Tickets, tables, dress codes and getting home — the practical bits, answered.

Selling out is real

The monthly Gala and the Winter Ball regularly sell out — if it's on your must-do list, book it first and plan the trip around it.

Entry plus whatever the event lists — the Gala includes champagne and canapés, the Social includes a shared platter. Chips and drinks at the tables are on you.

Start with the Blackjack Social — it's built for beginners. At any event, tell the dealer you're new and they'll walk you through it. That's literally their job.

Absolutely — most events run at partner casino hotels, so you can literally take the lift home. Ask about stay-and-play packages when you book.

Queenstown taxis run late and everything's within a ten-minute ride. Staying at the venue itself is the classy move — and we can book that too.

Save your seat at the next big night

Tell us which evening suits your dates — we'll confirm entry, hold your table and send you the dress code so there are no surprises. 18+ only.
